It should be noted that you cannot achieve a Wendell 7 if all your cards are even numbers. (e.g.) 2+4+6+8+10
If you are not able to qualify for the initial Wendell7 combination, you are unable to participate in that round. This results in a zero score for that player/team in that round only
The Game
- Each player must have a turn to deal
- Each player is dealt five cards, one card at a time, dealt clockwise.
- Up to ten players/teams can play per round
- The dealer must allow the players an agreed time to add up their cards.(up to 2 mins)
- From left to right the dealer asks each player to declare whether they qualify with achieving the Wendell 7 or not with the dealt cards. If any player cannot qualify the initial Wendell7, they throw in their hand for that round. Scoring a zero for that round only.
- All players declare the total value of their Wendell 7. (total of the three cards)
- The winner of the highest total (H7) point is then decided.
- The Dealer confers with the scorekeeper to determine who qualifies for the Wendell 7 (W7) 2 points, and who should be awarded the highest Wendell 7 (H7) highest point. If one or more players receive the same score then they all receive an extra point.
- The cards that made up the W7 are then handed over to the dealer.
- Out of the remaining 2 cards, the player/team with the highest numbered card (HC) receives 1 point.
- The player/team holding the lowest numbered card (LC) receives 1 point.
- There are fourteen rounds per game on the score sheet. Scores are added up per round and not disclosed until the end of the game.
- At the end of fourteen rounds, the scorekeeper adds up the results.
- For the player/team who gets third place, their total score is announced, followed by a hand clap.
- For the player/team who gets second place, their total score is announced, followed by a hand clap.
- For the winner, traditionally, we give a drum roll on the table/desk, announcing the grand total score, followed by a hand clap and cheers.
- If there is a tie between first, second or third place, there will be a playoff until a winner is found.
